FIRST: Nick leads off with announcements about Podcamp Pittsburgh and NYCC 2011.
BUT: Ross is dreading the fact that he has to call his insurance agent... so he talks about his driving history and past car crashes. Nick relates his (MOSTLY FALSE) car crash stories, as well as the (TRUE!) time he fought for his wallet after waking up on the streets of Miami.

THEN: Jason A asked us about collaboration. Ross discusses his failed collaboration attempts and drops some good advice about starting out slow. And Nick shares what he's learned from his previous collabos.
AND: Ross wants to know who's on the cover to Wolverine and the X-Men #1.

PLUS: Kya-Kyabetsu wants to know about finding a publisher and getting paid. Ross recommends showing your work to publishers at conventions. Or self-publishing. As for getting paid... uhhhh... he suggests getting paying jobs from publishers even though it's tough.
NEXT: Makeup tips and the fashion in Ross's comics!

FARTS! It's the podcast that only Bo demanded!!! We discuss our dream farts, beats, Nick's nightmare fart, the diarrhea song, shower farts, and farts in comics. WE'RE TALKIN' 30 MINUTES OF FARTS!!!

THEN: After the end theme, we talk about comics for 20 mins. Ross tells his story about how he got into the comics industry (thx to Crowforge).
NOTE: Today's main topics come from Ross's deviantART podcast suggestions post.

ALSO: Ross loves the Paper Wings podcast.
DOUBLE ALSO: Nick's got pie!!!
AND: Ending story arcs.
NEXT: Finding a publisher and getting paid.

Nick shares the voice acting for his upcoming Super Haters video comic while Ross can't remember the movies he watched in the past two weeks.
Then it's time for Ross's deviantART podcast suggestions post and this week we're talking about backstory (thx to kin-no-namazu). Ross got burned out on backstory with The Abandoned, and he had a really fantastical backstory for Water Baby that ended up getting edited out. He wishes he had more backstory for Wet Moon. As for Super Haters, Nick just makes up the backstory as he goes.
Both guys agree that a lot of story that gets cut often turns into backstory and informs the characters even if it's not shown on the pages. Then Ross digs deep into Audrey's backstory and talks about how she's changed over the course of Wet Moon. That spins into a conversation about Wolverine's backstory.

After the end theme, Ross and Nick talk about their own backstories... and old Fairport High School yearbooks!!!
NEXT: Farts, getting into the comics industry, and resolving story arcs.

FIRST: Listener feedback! Brett called in with a detailed a description of his grooming habits, Ross stopped getting earwax, and Dan Greenwald gives an EXTREME Challenge post-mortem.
THEN: We answer some listener questions from Ross's deviantART podcast suggestions post! First up is Hell-is-a-56 (again), who wants to know who Ross would like to have voice his characters if they were animated. He doesn't know, so Nick steals the question and talks about voice overs for Super Haters video comics AND... he promises to have the first Super Haters video comic ready for the next podcast!!!
AND: EarthmanPrime wants Ross to talk about the do's and don'ts of the comics industry. Ross sayz: Keep your mouth shut! Don't blow a deadline! Don't give a bad BJ!

PLUS: Nick gives a flawed Wonder Man history rundown and Ross thinks mullets get a bad rap.
NEXT EPISODE'S CALL IN THEME: You get two options -- you can tell us your feelings about backstory (do you have a backstory to share from your comic or do you think backstory is even worth it?) OR you can tell us if your feet smell and what you do about it! Call our automated AudioShocker Comment Line at 412-567-7606 -- messages record for up to three minutes.

FUCK X-MEN!!! FUCK EXTREME!!! We give up. Sorry.
BUT WE'VE GOT TONS OF LISTENER FEEDBACK! Byron, Beeslo, evilsherbear, Rachel, and Hell-is-a-56 from Ross's deviantART podcast suggestions post.
Listener feedback topics include reactions to last episode's longterm storytelling discussion, rumination on storyless stories, Ross's storytelling inspirations and tabletop gaming, our health and grooming routines, oranges, and warts.

After the end theme, it's a little non-feedback conversation -- EXTREME relief, Ross is finally rereading X-Cutioner's Song, why doesn't Chris Claremont own an island?, and more Byron.
NEXT EPISODE'S CALL IN THEME: Tell us your health and grooming habits! Just call 412-567-7606 and leave a message (don't worry -- it's totally automated, so you don't have to talk to anyone).

EXTREME #40-41! X-Men s3e40 and X-Men s3e41: Ross's screen caps, Nick's screen caps, and Nick *gasp* actually enjoyed episode 41!!! Ross genuinely wants to quit EXTREME... and Nick would stop too, but he's hanging in there for Zach. Oh, BTW, X-Men: The Animated Series is now streaming on Netflix in the US.

THEN: Longform storytelling! Ross prefers longform and sorta hates working on short stuff. When it comes to reading, Nick likes long stuff that has a (somewhat) finite end. Ross used to try to make stuff up as he went along, but he's been planning more nowadays for Wet Moon and Shadoweyes. Nick enjoys longform storytelling but wishes he didn't let Mind's Eye and Destruct-O-Tron have sex early on in Super Haters.

PLUS: Universal Soldier: Regeneration (an example of longform cinematic storytelling!) regenerated Ross's love of movies.

IN TWO WEEKS: X-Men s3e42 and X-Men s3e43 and more tedious shit.

It's another double-sized Ross and Nick episode to fill the double-sized whole in your empty, meaningless life!!!

EXTREME #38-39! X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 38 ) and X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 39 ): Nick's screen caps, confusing Jean Grey references, these episodes broke Ross and he's ready to give up, and he almost convinces Nick... BUT THEY DECIDE TO KEEP GOING! Also, hilarity of the X:TAS episode list.

PLUS: Animals Being Dicks. THEN: The difference between fandoms for mainstream properties and indie stuff. Sharing, broad characterization, fan fiction, fan art, and deeper exploration!!!

IN TWO WEEKS: X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 40 ) and X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 41 ) and more blabber.
As you may know, A Podcast with Ross and Nick has gone bimonthly. Personally, I'm still adjusting to our new schedule and I miss our usual weekly occurrence! To slow my withdrawal and sate my appetite for ridiculous conversation, I've decided to compile a short list of some of our most popular and interesting episodes:
- Episode #22 - Personality Poetry - According to our podPress statistics, this episode has the most listens! While I find over 6,000 plays to be a slightly dubious figure, I'm sure it does have more listens than some of our other less popular episodes (*ahem* Future Garbage *ahem*). Ross and I spend most of this episode discussing superhero personalities and editing Wikipedia, not to mention crafting some haiku poetry.
- Episode #40 - The Turtlecast, pt 4 - We wrap up our original four-part Turtlecast series by talking about TMNT video games, the Turtles Artobiography, and the infamous Coming Out of Our Shells tour. We also share our first official listener feedback, and some of our most classic listeners stop by in the comments.
- Episode #55 - Guro Thrasher - Our second most popular episode of all time! Again, the stats are suspect... but similar to Episode #32, I can guarantee that this one is largely popular due to the "fan art effect" (our podcasts that link to sexy fan art images always get more visits than our other podcasts). Anyway, this episode is unique because it's actually the second take because the first try didn't properly record. Also, the guro theme of the show sparked a really interesting conversation in the comments. Featuring Justique.
- Episode #74 - Episode 6cast - Six episodes into the EXTREME challenge and we're already going crazy from the pain. We discuss a horrible Wolverine solo episode of X-Men: The Animated Series as well as Return of the Jedi. Oh, and it all starts with Ross's squeaky fridge. Featuring Justique.
- Episode #80 - Future Garbage - Originally, I was planning on putting Episode #82 in this spot, but I changed my mind because this is the infamous episode that officially broke Ross's spirit by forcing him to rewatch The Garbage Pail Kids Movie. Plus, our conversation of X-Men:TAS episode 13 is really funny. Featuring Justique, Kaylie, and Kelly.
If I didn't include your favorite episodes on this list, let me know! I chose these shows based upon a few different factors: number of listens, content of the conversation, and the era during which it was recorded. Anyway, this is only "v1" because we have a ton of other good shows that I intended to spotlight again at some point.

The Epic X-Men TV Review Endurance Marathon Extravaganza continues with X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 36 ) and X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 37 )! Mojo hosts a backyard bonfire, Ross's screen caps, Nick's screen caps, and Nick can't handle anymore X-Men: The Animated Series.

Ross liked X-Men: First Class but also thought there was a bunch of just okay stuff mixed in. Nick thought it was average, but it lacked mystery. Both agree that it lacked positive diversity in the cast. And when does FOX's option on the X-Men properties run out?

PLUS: X-Men burnout!!!

IN TWO WEEKS: X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 38 ) and X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 39 ) and other stuff.

EXTREME #34-35! Nick finally watched X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 34 ) and loves it. Ross thinks X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 35 ) sucks. PLUS: Ross has announcement!!! MORE: Giant-sized screen caps! One + Two + Three + Four + Five = fun with Apocalypse.

Then Ross and Nick talk about... WORKING FROM HOME! Nick lost track of time on Monday and it was brutal. Ross has lost his sense of day-to-day time from working from home. It's easy to lose contact with the rest of the world. Do deadlines help or hurt? Keeping weird hours vs. sleeping. BUT WAIT... there's good stuff about it, too! (And more bad stuff.) PLUS: The conversation takes a poopy turn towards clogging toilets. And then the show ends.
IN TWO WEEKS: X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 36 ) and X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 37 ) and uhhhh... more.
