FUCK X-MEN!!! FUCK EXTREME!!! We give up. Sorry.
BUT WE'VE GOT TONS OF LISTENER FEEDBACK! Byron, Beeslo, evilsherbear, Rachel, and Hell-is-a-56 from Ross's deviantART podcast suggestions post.
Listener feedback topics include reactions to last episode's longterm storytelling discussion, rumination on storyless stories, Ross's storytelling inspirations and tabletop gaming, our health and grooming routines, oranges, and warts.

After the end theme, it's a little non-feedback conversation -- EXTREME relief, Ross is finally rereading X-Cutioner's Song, why doesn't Chris Claremont own an island?, and more Byron.
NEXT EPISODE'S CALL IN THEME: Tell us your health and grooming habits! Just call 412-567-7606 and leave a message (don't worry -- it's totally automated, so you don't have to talk to anyone).

EXTREME #40-41! X-Men s3e40 and X-Men s3e41: Ross's screen caps, Nick's screen caps, and Nick *gasp* actually enjoyed episode 41!!! Ross genuinely wants to quit EXTREME... and Nick would stop too, but he's hanging in there for Zach. Oh, BTW, X-Men: The Animated Series is now streaming on Netflix in the US.

THEN: Longform storytelling! Ross prefers longform and sorta hates working on short stuff. When it comes to reading, Nick likes long stuff that has a (somewhat) finite end. Ross used to try to make stuff up as he went along, but he's been planning more nowadays for Wet Moon and Shadoweyes. Nick enjoys longform storytelling but wishes he didn't let Mind's Eye and Destruct-O-Tron have sex early on in Super Haters.

PLUS: Universal Soldier: Regeneration (an example of longform cinematic storytelling!) regenerated Ross's love of movies.

IN TWO WEEKS: X-Men s3e42 and X-Men s3e43 and more tedious shit.
...so you better catch up with EXTREME (Epic X-Men TV Review Endurance Marathon Extravaganza) on A Podcast with Ross and Nick!!!
Watch X-Men on Netflix NOOOWWWW!

Join in on the fun this Tuesday when Ross and I review X-Men episode 40 and episode 41 as Jean Grey returns for the start of the animated Dark Phoenix saga!

It's another double-sized Ross and Nick episode to fill the double-sized whole in your empty, meaningless life!!!

EXTREME #38-39! X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 38 ) and X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 39 ): Nick's screen caps, confusing Jean Grey references, these episodes broke Ross and he's ready to give up, and he almost convinces Nick... BUT THEY DECIDE TO KEEP GOING! Also, hilarity of the X:TAS episode list.

PLUS: Animals Being Dicks. THEN: The difference between fandoms for mainstream properties and indie stuff. Sharing, broad characterization, fan fiction, fan art, and deeper exploration!!!

IN TWO WEEKS: X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 40 ) and X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 41 ) and more blabber.

The Epic X-Men TV Review Endurance Marathon Extravaganza continues with X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 36 ) and X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 37 )! Mojo hosts a backyard bonfire, Ross's screen caps, Nick's screen caps, and Nick can't handle anymore X-Men: The Animated Series.

Ross liked X-Men: First Class but also thought there was a bunch of just okay stuff mixed in. Nick thought it was average, but it lacked mystery. Both agree that it lacked positive diversity in the cast. And when does FOX's option on the X-Men properties run out?

PLUS: X-Men burnout!!!

IN TWO WEEKS: X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 38 ) and X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 39 ) and other stuff.

EXTREME #34-35! Nick finally watched X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 34 ) and loves it. Ross thinks X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 35 ) sucks. PLUS: Ross has announcement!!! MORE: Giant-sized screen caps! One + Two + Three + Four + Five = fun with Apocalypse.

Then Ross and Nick talk about... WORKING FROM HOME! Nick lost track of time on Monday and it was brutal. Ross has lost his sense of day-to-day time from working from home. It's easy to lose contact with the rest of the world. Do deadlines help or hurt? Keeping weird hours vs. sleeping. BUT WAIT... there's good stuff about it, too! (And more bad stuff.) PLUS: The conversation takes a poopy turn towards clogging toilets. And then the show ends.
IN TWO WEEKS: X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 36 ) and X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 37 ) and uhhhh... more.

EXTREME #33-34! X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 33 ) and X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 34 ): Ross is confused about Super Haters and liked the HyperComboCast, the guys recap what happened in APWRAN #101, Nick didn't watch X-Men #34, the art is ALLLLL fucked up in it, Ross took hilarious screen caps, the Purple Man makes an appearance, Taki has a badass wheelchair, and Skids can skid.

Then Ross and Nick read some fan mail from a long-time listener -- Aaron -- and a brand new listener -- Pierce. Thx, guys!

THEN... it's guilty pleasures! Ross was invited to be on a "Guilty Pleasures" panel at TCAF, but he passed. Nick doesn't believe in guilty pleasures when it comes to comics (or any art form, for that matter). Ross can enjoy all kinds of stories. Nick coins the term "Snoborati" -- the comics bloggers that push notions of what are "good" and "bad" comics -- and goes after them!
That leads to a discussion of Youngblood #1-4... Nick never read it before but he read it recently and loved it! Ross reminisces about reading Image books in the 90s. And then the guys dive into a convo of the Youngblood story and characters.
NEXT: X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 35 ) and something else.

EXTREME #32! X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 32 ): Ross's screen caps, Nick's Skype confession (!!!), Ross's dish washing confession (!!!), and how come no one notices the weird shit going on with Jean Grey? At least Rogue was badass...

Then Ross and Nick talk about 90s X-Men comics! First up is Generation X (Nick loves Chris Bachalo's art!). Then it's X-Factor (including the forgotten Forge-led team!). Then it's late 90s Uncanny X-Men and X-Men (Ross loves Marrow!). And a bit of early 90s X-Men too (and how Image stole Ross away!). And some Joe Mad, too.

NEXT: X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 33 ) and Ross vs. Nick mud wrestling... PLACE YOUR BETS ON WHO WILL WIN.

EXTREME #31! X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 31 ): Rogue was on a mission, Black Tom and Banshee get turned into siblings, Banshee looks like a flying squirrel, and Juggernaut is stupid.

Fratboy realism. Ross invented it... but it's got a life of its own! We read our definitions (shout out to Bo and his definition). Then we argue about our definitions. Fratboy realism vs. nerd realism. Culture wars and mob mentality. Gritty!!!

NEXT: X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 32 ) and our anniversary celebration!!!
ALSO: Give us your suggestions for next week's #100 episode spectacular! Leave a note in the comments OR leave a voicemail on the AudioShocker's automated comment line by calling 412-567-7606.

EXTREME #30! X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 30 ): The Phoenix Saga sucks so far, Jean Grey cosplay is funny, we go off on a tangent about sexualized superheroes, and Beast is annoying.

Then it's TMNT!!! The Turtlecast is back and it's a doozy. We talk about TMNT back issues, City at War, the colored bandannas, if the TMNT should ever wear masks at all, and what we'd like to see in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie relaunch.

NEXT: X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 31 ) and fratboy realism (for real this time!!!).
