Welcome to the third installment of "Building Da Beat." Yeah, it's one week late. After the drums and bass came together so naturally, things started to reverse as I struggled to find the right sound for the guitar. Even now, I'm not so sure that this sound is right. Until such a time as I decide I can do better, this "skin" to the body of the beat will have to do. Hopefully next week: the full package.
Welcome to the second installment of "Building Da Beat." If last week's drums constituted the "skeleton" of the song, then this week could be considered the "muscle," as some fat slap bass has been added on top of the percussion. Be back next week for the guitar.
I'm gonna try something a little different for the month of September here on the Beatcast. This month will be devoted to "Building Da Beat" - instead of just hearing a finished song, you get to listen to the different layers as I build an instrumental track from scratch. Today, we're going to start out with the "skeleton" of the song, the drums. Be back next week to hear the drums combined with the next layer, the bass.
