Animatic Attack #4 – It’s a Conspiracy

Animatic Attack

Justique is away on special assignment so Fawn and Nick are joined by Brandon Williams. He’s an anime lover, comic book artist, and animation student.

As always, we swim in the wondrous pool of The Legend of Korra: Book 2: Spirits. Our diving board is The Guide, a great episode that shows Korra reuniting with Aang’s family and Jinora revealing her special spirit connection.

And Mako gets arrested by Beifong and the Mustachioed Duo. Bummer.

After that, we discuss the first two episodes of Welcome to the NHK. We meet Satō, a depressed young dude living in Tokyo. He’s a hikikomori and a NEET and he’s befriended by a shy and determined girl named Misaki who believes she can “save” him from his anti-social ways.

Plus, Angela Graham makes a guest appearance and Fawn talks about her awesome Princess Mononoke Halloween costume!

Next: Korra: Book 2 episodes 10-12 (A New Spiritual Age, Night of a Thousand Stars, and Harmonic Convergence) and episodes 3-4 of Welcome to the NHK!

Looking forward to the rest of the NHK discussion. Also stoked about the dub appreciation as this is one of the series where I think I prefer the dub.

i’m so glad you’re on board for this one! i think the dub is especially strong for this series. the english voice actors really did it justice.
