A Podcast with Kaylie and Justique #168 - Bananas

A Podcast with Kaylie and Nick

BOOM! Hot off Podcast Vérité #4, Justique hits the Earth like blazing meteoroid striking a long-dormant volcano and creates a molten geyser of conversation!

She joins Kaylie McDougal and Nick Marino to talk about the ballsy business parody of ALF s2 e5 and inept Halloween comedy of ALF s2 e6. Justique and Nick got screencaps and Kaylie got screencaps.

Then we give ourselves over to David DeCoteau and his riveting thriller, 1313: Wicked Stepbrother. It's a confusing tale of closeted homoeroticism, reused footage, consensual incest, poor scripting, and mental illness. Justique and Nick made some mementos and Kaylie did too.

Next: Pageantry and hiccups in ALF s2 e7 and ALF s2 e8, and the cruel reality of the entertainment business in 1313: Actor Slash Model.

Woah, Nick, what's up with your voice? You sound so different!!!

Grape and Blueberry flavours are ass. Original gum flavour or orange all the way. And my gum of choice when I was a kid was BubbleYum.

And Bazooka Joe. I collected HUNDREDS of those comics. Wish I still had that collection.

The belly button in that one knifey screen shot made me barf.

And then the mp3 stopped playing when Justique kept yelling at the movie's brotherly love scene :(

I'm definitely watching the next one.

Haha! That was an amazing review of 1313: Wicked Stepbrother!

@Nick "ie" isn't always for girls. One of the manliest guys ever spells his name that way: Eddie Deezen. ;-P

yeah, I can agree with these ALF episodes, ep5 had a so-so plot, but parts of the dialog were awesome and yeah, ep6 was kind of mediocre, nothing really special about it.

I remember bubble yum and hubba bubba, that stuff was the shit for me back in the day! I actually like grape and orange flavors too, the one i can't really stand is cherry.

another hilarious review on this horrendous movie! another movie that pushes everything that is twisted and wrong.

@Fawn and Kim: WHAT?!?!?! ORANGE GUM???? No way!! Seriously? I dunno what to say. Oranges are like my favorite food on Earth but orange gum seems to odd to me. Orange candy I get. But for me orange gum has this weird sharpness to it that oranges and even orange candy rarely have. But I also hate creamsicles, so it's probably just me.

@Fawn: My voice is weird because I'm laying down and the mic is at a different angle. Plus, the pain in my arm was kinda bad!

Sorry about the mp3 thing :(

@Kim: "another movie that pushes everything that is twisted and wrong" and FEELS SO RIGHT!!! hahahaha

@Jason: THX! Wicked Stepbrother is like the Chinatown of bad cinema. It practically reviews itself.

loved this one!! i used to love grape soda, specifically Wegmans brand grape soda, we'd drink that stuff all the time. i remember after a while they changed the flavor recipe slightly and it was still good but never the same again. :(

Nick, i hope your hand is feeling better, it sounds awful. i know you recorded this before we did our latest episode, and when we recorded you seemed a bit better so i didn't realized how bad it was until listening to this today. i hope they can fix it!! my mom had one of these ganglion things one time, i guess from working in her garden so much, and she told me it went away when she accidentally hit her hand on something and the thing popped or "broke" inside her hand/finger and it never came back. not that i recommend trying that, haha.

these DeCoteau movies... man. i almost want to watch them for myself but somehow i think they won't be as entertaining as listening to you guys discuss them.

and Justique, you were on fire again!!! you're tearin' it up! you crack me up. you really are like a dormant volcano bursting forth with lava in the form of searing hot conversation and humorous remarks. maybe it should be A Podcast With Kaylie & Justique instead.... nawwww, i kid, i'm sorry, Nick. :)

i was never a gum person, i've always been way more into gummy stuff. remember Gushers?!? that is disgusting and kind of horrifying about gum NEVER GOING AWAY and remaining forever on sidewalks. what the fuck?! what is that shit made of? i thought it was just crap from the gum tree mixed with some flavoring! i guess not... it sounds like it lasts longer than radioactive waste.

@Fawn Sorry about the mp3 cutting out! I can probably simulate what you missed. (Rawr-rawr-rawr Not enough gay love rawr-rawr-rawr Where are the boobies?). I also collected the Bazooka Joe comics but now... I have no idea what I did with em. Oh my God... My Comics... Where are they?!

@Jason Gracias! Talking about Wicked Stepbrother almost makes up for watching it.

@Kim It does push the twisted and wrong but in a very innocent way. Like... "Hey you! Nun! You're a woman, you know all kinds of twisted shit, right? Tell me, in your life, what is twisted. 30 words or less cause... You know... attention-span issues."

@Ross Thank you! It's always nice to know I'm Funny-crazy not just Crazy-crazy.

My crazy strength and conditioning coach in highschool made us watch Pumping Iron on a yearly basis. Love that fucking movie. "'is like cumming!"

Check this Arnie classic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyXwbKG6EwM His first acting role. He shoulda stopped after this, he perfected the art form.

@Nick: hahahaha "it looks better with oil"

I think he was really good in that clip. He had to play shy and build up into a rage. I thought it was convincing.

But that's not Arnie's first role! This is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj4NGS_o68g

Hercules in New York. One of my favorite films. Cheesy like Velveeta. Silly like a rabbit. It's fantastic.

@Ross: I'm not sure it's much better. No more shooting pains, but still discomfort. I bought a sling today! Hopefully that'll help it heal. I called my doctor's office but they never called back :(

I think you should join us for an episode and watch one of the DeCoteau flicks with us. But honestly, I don't recommend watching them on your own or without screencapping for a review. Too boring.

@Justique: I mistaked your Bazooka Joe comics for Bazooka Joe gum and chewed them all up. I'm sorry.

But not really. They tasted great.
