Shawn, Jess, and Nick share their experiences with community events organized by comics-related groups like Artists Meetup, Dr. Sketchy’s, National Cartoonists Society, The ToonSeum, and more.

    i say go for it nick. get out there and hang out with some of the other artists out there. i would love it. i think there’s a strong cartoonist presence out there, and from what i have been exposed to a lot of them are pretty open and cool.

    i’m sure it’s pretty sweet out here and eventually i’ll get out and meet people. but i’m also in Long Beach, which is — without owning a car — really far away from shit!! it’s like a 1.5 hour train ride to get to most of the galleries and artist type stuff in Los Angeles. not everything, mind you. just most it.

    still, i’m sure there’s plenty of stuff going on in my area. but i’m enjoying being a hermit!!! HERMIT POWER!!!
