Super Haters Destruct-O-Cast #18 – Baby Poop

Super Haters Destruct-O-Cast

Nick Marino talks about Baby Blues, the recently completed Super Haters story arc about Annabelle, the child of Destruct-O-Tron and Mind’s Eye.

The tale introduces Destruct-O-Belle, the grizzled 58-year-old post-apocalyptic version of Annabelle.

And you can learn how to create your own time-traveling anti-hero here!

Finally, come hang with Nick at the 2012 New York Comic Con! You can find the Super Haters at the AudioShocker table in the Podcast Arena in Artist Alley on the far right side of the Show Floor at Booth 3354.

Nick, I’ve not read through the Super Haters’ archives yet, but have you done a tournament arc? It’s classic filler. ;) But tweak it, so like we get to see it from, I don’t know, the sidelines or something.

Ugh, I want to think this through before I post but I’ve got to run to work.

    Maybe more later?

I dig the concept!!!!! That would be a ton of fun. I’d love to hear a little more from you about this if you get any more ideas for it :D

Ugh, I really wish I had more time for this. Or that my most anticipated movie of this year wasn’t opening today.

So yeah, mostly I just see this as a tournament told from the sidelines. You’d never actually *see* anyone fight. Just lead-up, side-line commentary, and aftermath. And, to be honest, I don’t really like the color commentary thing for this. Like it should only be the lead-ups and aftermaths.

Actual plot-wise? Depends on how long it needs to run really. But I was thinking today about a villain who’s got a bunch of crappy fighting-game style powers* but they don’t want the powers anymore. So they use some magic spell to give them away piecemeal to the cast, along with transporting the cast to some goofy unescapable location where they have to fight each other in a poorly put together tournament. And whomever wins a bout gains their opponent’s power.

Why does the set-up seem kinda hastily put together? Because the villain will get all their crappy powers back within a short time if someone else doesn’t absorb them all. But the cast doesn’t actually know any of this backstory. You could even play it like the Basterdizer is the villain, but they’re not! Dun dun DUH! Cause this is Filler. So it has to be almost totally divorced from the primary continuity.

Sorry that’s all I’ve got. I’ll probably keep thinking about it though, even when I should be concentrating on work. ;-P (cause this is way more fun to think about. For. Reals.)

VERY EXCELLENT!!! I like the fleshed out idea a lot. I’m still not sure what’s gonna happen on Monday… but I really like this concept.

THX for taking the time to type it all out even though yesterday was a opening day for Hotel Transylvania. I imagine you’ve been pretty excited while waiting for that one to come out. Literally wetting yourself in anticipation, I’m sure.

Haha! Thanks Nick. Read your reply on break at work and it made the night way more awesome.

Honestly, I’d love to work this up as an actual pitch, if you don’t mind. Probably’ll take a couple’a few days though, okay?

And Looper, I had to see Looper opening day! ;-P
