Super Haters Destruct-O-Cast #12 - Word Association

Super Haters Destruct-O-Cast

On this week's Super Haters podcast, Nick Marino (c'est moi!) and creator extraordinaire Andrew Kilian go off-topic to debate The Godfather, share mutual love for The Legend of Korra, and trade philosophical views.

Completely unrelated to this podcast... THE HATERS NEED YOUR VOTE!

After the end theme (which happens somewhere in the middle of the episode), we talk about Mind's Eye for a bit, discussing her background and costume. And we chat about the inspiration for RALF.

But then we start bullshitting about other stuff again.

Point of Order; I meant to say the Democrats were taking a knife to a gun fight.

Boy, I really sound rambling and out of it. Maybe I should go to the gym before interviews so I sound halfway awake.

i don't like any of the Godfather movies either, just because i find them kind of boring, not because of any philosophical stuff like Nick is saying (whoa). and Donnie Darko blows. i used to kind of like Donnie Darko, but then i watched the director's commentary on it and he reveals what everything means and it's really stupid, so it pretty much ruined whatever moderate like i had for the movie.

but man, the stuff at the end there, whew, you lost me!! too high brow for me. i agree logic is a fallacy, because it's coming from non-logical beings and therefore logic is made-up and is not a realistic or practical approach to life. i think logic has a place, though, and i think the idea is people striving for a common ground set of rules and concepts that everyone can use to solve problems, which is pretty much an impossible goal but i think that's the goal regardless. logic is also not really practical because it can be used to "prove" pretty much anything, like an example a friend of mine likes to use is that people like the Marquis de Sade would use logic to state that rape is a public service and stuff like that, and if logic can be used to prove anything even the worst shit, then it's worthless.
