I played some SFIV in tokyo on one of the sit down machines, they were all lined up and some dude from across the room challenged me and KILL'D me so hard. I was starting to figure out his fighting style but it was too late... I'm just not hardcore enough for Tokyo. Their arcades are just floors and floors of machines, they have a lot of these mass fighting mech type games which had a lot of cool art. The whole cabinet thing is just out of date, where I think a good resurgence would be is in video game bars. Then you've got people going out to drink, and you have all these sweet games and you could do like fighting corner and shooting areas ect. I think video game bars, is a place where cabinets could make a come back, just make them hip, and spill proof.
Here in Pittsburgh, we have an unlimited video game joint that's BYOB. I hate to say it, but I've never been there because the selection of arcade games isn't really my cup. That's the only video game bar type of place I know of in my area... well, except for Dave & Busters, which is like a nation-wide chain of video game bars stocked with arcade cabinets!!!
and speaking of cabinets, Justique and I hit up a local arcade yesterday and played one of my favorite games:

I found some sites that have Tekken Tag 2 cabinets available for pre order. There are two available (One simple smaller stand up, and one "Deluxe" that looks just like the most recent Tekken 6 cabinet). Order deadline is June 6th. Hopefully some arcades in the area pick it up (Gameworks, etc.). I would just kill to play Tag 2 in the arcade before the console release. Tekken 6 cabinets were great (specially the Bloodline Rebellion Cabinet) so I really hope we see this in the US although as you said, it may be unlikely. I really enjoyed listening to the show. Looking forward to hearing you guys talk about some Street Fighter X Tekken, Tekken Tag 2, and everything else in between.
@Erker: Thx for listening!!! I'm really looking forward to playing SFxT, so I'm sure we'll be discussing it within the next few months.
