Super Haters Destruct-O-Cast #3 – Hyperreal

Super Haters Destruct-O-Cast

On this week’s Destruct-O-Cast, Nick Marino (that’s me!) is joined by Andrew Kilian. He’s the hyper-awesome artist behind the hyper-anatomy of Andrew Kilian Guest Week, a 5-page Super Haters story that debuted last fall.

NOTE: We spend a lot of time referencing our collaboration, so if you haven’t already read it, you should check it out! It’s a short read and only mildly NSFW.

Andrew and I kick things off by discussing his experience at The Kubert School. Then we chat about his major first comic book project, Majestic XII.

After that, we talk Super Haters! Why were the Haters liberating for Andrew? Why does he think perfection sucks? Plus: learn the shocking (or, uhhhh… not-so-shocking) secrets of our past collaboration and thrill as we tease a future collaboration!

Also, Andrew and I explain our respective approaches to comics creation. And we go through our story and reveal some hidden moments that you may have missed!

Nice tight interview, really entertaining, good conversation flow and there was more of a dialogue than I remember. In the moment I thought I was being a total Conversation Hijacker so I was getting ready to cringe, but after listening as a sorta casual observer I thought it was really nice. Great work Nick and btw love the new opening theme. Awesome!

Thx :) I think it came out great too. I mean, I had you on the show to talk… so I don’t think you hijacked anything!!!

i looked up the Rescue armor and it’s pretty ugly, but i mostly think it’s ugly BECAUSE it’s sexed-up and “feminine,” like why would they have built boobs onto her armor? pretty stupid.
