Time Log #32

While attempting to hunt down Pete via the Time Vortex, Nick and Shawn landed in Miami, where they proceeded to get something to eat at Justique's Diner. Nick, enamored with the restaurant's sandwiches, has been asked to come to the kitchen...

Sandwiches!!! Buttons!!! ROMANCE???

Just wait until next week when Chef Justique actually pushes the button... you're not gonna believe what happens!

But in the meantime, here's some backstory -- Pete and I have been working up to this particular scene for a while! This was one of the original plot points from our years-old Time Log outline that survived the revision process. But back then, things were a little bit different...

See, part of the plot (which has since been abandoned) was that the FutureNazis would capture Pete AND Shawn and uhhh, how do I say this... umm, force them to copulate. They would produce a child -- Norman or Eugene or something like that. And said child would grow to be an old man living in Miami in the late 70s.

When Nick landed in late 70s Miami, he'd go into a diner. At the diner would be an elderly man... and elderly man who knew exactly when and what he was waiting for!!! (HINT: Nick) This moment would foreshadow our secret ending -- Eugene would be the real villain of the piece, driving around some big ass mecha suit in the future and trying to restore the Nazis to power, yadda yadda.

Meanwhile, Nick would eat to his heart's delight at the diner, only to discover that he was totally broke! He'd be forced to wash dishes in the kitchen and meet his quantum entanglement -- a brawny chef with a special button!

As you can see, some things have changed since then... BUT there is one thing that hasn't -- the CENSORED, CENSORED, and CENSORED that we'll reveal next week after Justique's pushes her big red button!!!

A Podcast with Ross and Nick #95 - Unconventional pt. 1

A Podcast with Ross and Nick

Kaylie lives next to the radio towers, Nick wants you to read the Shadoweyes guest spot in Super Haters (and fan Super Haters on Facebook), and Ross reveals how the very first Shadoweyes crossover happened (it's not Super Haters!).

EXTREME #27! X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 27 ): We were right!!! This is the actual beginning of Season 3 (and Marvel.com is wrong). The animation is definitely different... more highlights!!! They never show Wolverine killing Lady Deathstrike's father (which is confusing), and why do people go in tubes and come out with powers?

Then we talk about conventions! Ross enjoys smaller conventions more because they're less depressing. And in general, to him, cons are good business opportunities (but he hates the stress). Kaylie likes the excitement and new-ness of cons, but gets really exhausted. And Nick absolutely hates conventions.

NEXT: X-Men ( Season 3, Episode 28 ) and conventions part 2!!!

AudioShocker Podcast #171 - Union Breaker

AudioShocker Podcast

Nick won an iPad from TopWebComics.com (where you can vote for Time Log and vote for Super Haters!!!), Justique watched Back to the Future II and remembered how much she liked it, Neal's starting an internship today so wish him luck, and... is Rob Schneider's The Chosen One a comedy? We can't tell.

Check the new webcomic by our friends at YIBR!!!

Our fellow podcasting compatriots -- Yamagato Industries Business Report -- have a brand-spanking-new YIBR webcomic chock full of comic book and video game jokes.

Scrippted by Beeslo (the bizarro me) and arted by Colonel "this isn't my real name" Panic, it even sports a kickass AudioShocker reference in a recent strip:

OH YEAH! Not only is that kid's shirt sweet, but his friend is 100% correct!!! (BTW, how did that small child get an AudioShocker shirt and why is he listening to our 18+ podcasts... HMMM???)

Anyway, I'm fully in support of podcasters who make webcomics and comics peeps who make podcasts (*ahem* and *ahem*), so I'm happy to see more joining the ranks! NOW GO READ THE DAMN COMICS ALREADY.

EXTREME #26! X-Men ( Season 2, Episode 26 ): More Savage Land bullshit. Is this the season finale? NOOO it's not. Wolverine's claws, Chuck's legs, and Jurassic Park.

Then it's fan entitlement! We drop references like Achewood, Infinity War, Neil Gaiman, and tons more as we talk about what we think comics creators do and do not owe to their fans.

NEXT: X-Men ( Season 2, Episode 27 ) and another enlightening comics convo.

AudioShocker Podcast #170 - Sprinkle Me

AudioShocker Podcast

We get sprinkled as Neal talks about Brooklyn Bridge Park, From Paris with Love, and Subway. Nick talks about hand-sewing Passage, how Scary Movie 4 isn't as good as Scary Movie 3, and wonders if he should go to webcomics conventions.

Sequential Underground #12 - Comics Commentary

Sequential Underground

The podcast by indie comics creators for indie comics creators drops some insightful comics commentary!

Since we were all at SPACE this past weekend, we were too busy to record a new regular-style episode. But we've got something special for you -- snippets of audio commentary about our comics!!!

First up is Shawn Atkins and Seth Fronzoli of Workshop 13 talking about their Explorers of the Unknown story, Earth to the Moon, from their Cosmic Comics for the Digital Soul comics CD.

Next up is Shawn and me (Nick!) talking about The New Time Log (1 of 3) [a.k.a. ACT 1 of the Time Log webcomic] from our AudioShocker Comics Archives v1 comic card ("What's a comic card?," you ask??? Find out more here.)

Sorry Pete, No New Time Log This Week...

I'm just too damn busy getting ready for this weekend's SPACE.

BUT there is this:

And that's the main reason there's no new Time Log this week -- because I was putting together a super-secret special mini comic for the Columbus small press show, as well as prepping digital content for the AudioShocker Comics Archives v1 comic cards.

So sorry for the lack of Log, but I'll be back on schedule next week. Oh, and BTW, speaking of next week, if you're in Pittsburgh, I'll be giving a talk in the teen/comics section of Oakland's Carnegie Library at 6:30 PM on Monday March 21st. Be there, be square, or be both!!!

The New Time Log (1 of 3)

It's here!!! ACT I of the Time Log webcomic has been collected into the odd-shaped little full-color book you see above.

The New Time Log (1 of 3) is 8" x 6.75" of time traveling insanity, from the unsettling present to the shocking past to the post-apocalyptic future.

Picking up immediately after the events of the Time Log one-shot, the story introduces our hapless heroes, Pete and Nick, to their bold new compatriots -- FuturePete, Shawn, and Paige. And that all goes without mentioning the reveal of our historical villains and their plan to control the world!!!

The New Time Log (1 of 3) is written by Pete Borrebach w/ Nick Marino, penciled by Shawn Atkins, inked by Paige Shoemaker, colored by Justique Woolridge, and lettered and edited by Nick Marino.

The Time Log one-shot and the New Time Log (1 of 3) are also available digitally through the AudioShocker Comics Archives v1 comic card.
