EXTREME #6! X-Men ( Season 1, Episode 6 ): Wolverine's photo of Scott and Jean, Wolverine's magic shirt (~8:30), Gambit's crap disguise, no Kelly means more hate (and less notes), and Sabretooth sucks.
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi is still better to Ross. Justique too. But not Nick - he's converted to Empire. But... EWOKS! Ross loves the Emperor and now hates the new Jabba song. (Watch the original song, Lapti Nek)
NEXT: X-Men ( Season 1, Episode 7 ) and The Clone Wars

a jedi podcast with no mention of nien nunb? T_T
i totally mentioned Nien Nunb, i guess Nick had stopped recording by that point. :( Nick was saying the character's face looked like a vagina or something.
Jedi's totally the best one, i don't know what you guys are talking about. Empire has the Yoda scenes but everything else is so boring!!! i love the Emperor! "your pitiful little BAND!" hahaha.
Jedi is the only one that moved me in any capacity, too, i just love when Vader is standing there while Luke is getting zapped and he's looking back and forth between he and Emperor, trying to make a decision, so good.
i thought of another thing that i like so much about Jedi, the fact that there are other alien races involved in the rebellion. i realize it was probably just a budgetary thing in New Hope and Empire that all the players are human (except Chewie) or droids, it would've cost a ton to get masks and makeup and puppets for all these random rebels in the backgrounds and stuff (maybe they could've re-used the Cantina aliens, though, heh). but in Jedi we got the Admiral Ackbar guys, Lando's vagina-face Nien Nunb buddy, the Ewoks, they mention the Bothan spies.. it makes it less like only humans care about fighting the Empire. i guess i can't fault the movies for a budgetary thing, but it still affects my enjoyment of them.
on the other hand with the addition of the other aliens, you get the dubious inclusions of real Earth languages being used in parts of the Ewok speech and i think Nien Nunb, Lando's co-pilot, speaks in a Kenyan language. X(
the best stuff is still the Luke/Vader/Emperor stuff on the Death Star, though.

I think I forgot to listen after the ending song. Maybe I missed you talking about nien nunb. I love the part when the millenium falcon exits a fireball and he laughs, but we've talked about that in the past.
I also love when wedge says, "I'm already on my way out."
Not the hugest fan of ewoks but that part with the one ewok looking sad because of his dead friend had more emotion in it than all the prequels combined.
And I admit, I thought it was pretty funny when you were talking about jabba's crony having to go around waking everybody up so they could surprise leia.
I love the sterility of the original movies compared to the prequels. The sad part is that lucas clearly had people (as evidenced by the early lucasarts videos games which, for me anyway, recreated the feeling of the trilogy) who could've made new sw movies with the same aesthetic but chose not to.
I also like those red guards in the throne room.
how come no aliens get to pilot x-wings?!?! the rebellion is just as xenophobic as the empire! XD
i think i said this in the podcast though, can't remember, but the dead Ewok and his mourning friend has more emotion than all the other movies combined, prequels and original trilogy.
i watched Empire and Jedi with some of the audio commentary, Lucas is such a dope, haha.
i remember being really into the red throne room guards as a kid, too. i also always wondered why the Emperor's throne room was right next to a window instead of protected deep within the Death Star, like if there was one stray laser blast from outside that hit that window it would be all over for him. or maybe it was some kind of viewscreen wired up to look like a window.
another thing i like about Jedi is this guy's hair: http://www.skywlkr.net/idc/expansions/downloads/boe/full%20set/set%20images/original/027-GeneralCrixMadine%28A%29.jpg
@Ross: NO WAY! the Death Star stuff is the worst. and that's guy hair... you know what that means, right? HE'S A HIPSTER!
@Mark: sorry, i didn't record the Nien Nunb talk. he sorta creeps me out cause his face is all moist under the flaps. like, would he flek all over you when he talks? and how come everyone can understand Nien and Chewie? people talk to them like they're making sense. they don't.
Vagina-Face.

guys i just want to say that these past few x-men/sw podcasts have been the best yet. about this episode: nice pants on jean grey in the beginning there. high-waisted enough? i like that beast is STILL in jail, and the team is so dysfunctional. besides jubilee i don't think i can really identify or get behind any of the x-men. they're all such assholes.
Awww. You guys missed me...um, until you didn't. Mean! You know I actually LISTEN to these podcasts, right?!
Anyway, in the case of this episode I think I would have hated it even more than you guys.
But you did need me so you could tie up the votes on the Empire v Jedi battle Nick. :)
See you guys next week? Maybe? I can't believe I have to watch that Clone Wars Movie. Bah.
@Kelly- it won't be so bad...worse case scenario...you can sleep...like me lol. No but i really need to start napping BEFORE the shows
AudioShocker Shoutouts!

sorry ross, my bad
@nick: that's cool. but I mean, I don't think lando would hang out with anybody who wasn't at least as cool as himself. maybe lobot was a mutual acquaintance.
mark: what??
ross: lobot
(srsly, didn't go back and listen but felt stupid repeating something you said during the podcast)
AudioShocker Shoutouts!

i love Lobot!!! i thought you just made that up, Mark. as in Lando's robot = Lobot.
mark: no, i was confused why said "sorry, my bad." what was the bad?!
@justique
OR we need to embrace the challenge of being interesting enough to keep you awake. :)

@kelly... shit, then she's definitely gonna fall asleep for the Clone Wars convo!
@ Nick: Haha Nooooooo I'll stay up for animated things lol
@ Kelly: I accept this challange lol
@J: proooove it!!!

I just watched RotJ for the first time in about 25 years in between listening to this podcast. It's the first time I've seen it with the "special edition" revisions. And ya know, my issue isn't "OMG Lucas messed with my childhood!" but more "Um, why did he pick THOSE scenes to enhance/amend?"
Did he make the speeder bikes look more realistic? No. Did he make the Rancor not look like a puppet from a '50s B-movie? No. But he added Looney Tunes-style lips to the singer in Jabba's band and had new, out-of-sync music added?
Ohhhhkay.
@Pj: YESSSSS! well said. just bad decisions all around when there were so many other things that he could have tweaked. i remember his kids were still little at the time, so maybe he was like, "okay suzie... what's your favorite part?" "SINGY ALIEN!" "alright then, i'll put more CG on the alien."
