How about FUCK YOU, Nick. I think the new movie does actually capture at least some essence from the original series. The Ambercrombie model they got to play Kirk actually does a good job. And there's some slap stick, and good old fashion fighting that is very Star Trekky. I'm still curious as to whether it's a legitimate enterprise (hey-oh!) to compare two movies just because they came out in consecutive weeks--maybe in award season, where things are actually pitted against each other it makes sense, but there's no real logic to preferring one movie over another just because they're out at the same time, when they're such different movies and there's been plenty of time to see both multiple times.
