Well fellow shockers, (and that is how I will address you guys from now on), we made it through 2008 and it's time to party like a worn-out Prince cliche. In case you didn't catch it on yesterday's 'quadcast', Pete and Nick will hosting their own Pittsburgh getdown, while Kirsten and I explore New Haven nightlife.
New Year's pretty much demands a good playlist. After 364 days of b.s. ClearChannel, NPR, and shitty club music - I want to pre-party and get hype to some outrageous self-indulgent jams. Here is a sample of what is on my playlist for this evening. What's on yours?
1. 99 Problems - Jay Z
2. Ghetto Supastar - Pras ft. Mya and ODB
3. Shut Up And Let Me Go - The Ting Tings
4. Are You Gonna Go My Way - Lenny Kravitz
5. Ride Wit Me - Nelly
6. What I Got - Sublime
7. Little Miss Can't Be Wrong - The Spin Doctors
8. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
9. Basket Case - Greenday
10. Fly - Sugar Ray

neal, as you know, i am completely in the grips of War Machine mania right now and last night i forced Justique and her mom to make a War Machine playlist with me. if i can get the list over easy enough i'll totally add it as a comment on this post (since it was like a New Year's Eve EVE playlist, if you follow).

Neal,
"Fly" is one of the most annoying songs of all time. I am truly shocked that you would voluntarily listen to this song, even on the dumbest of made-up holidays.

pete - just because you hated the 'self indulgent' 90s doesn't mean we all did.
Is the lead singer of that band still an emcee on the TV Guide channel?
i think so... which, honestly, impressed me. it takes a lot of courage to go from lead singer of a platinum-selling pop band to the host of the TV guide channel.

Haters. all of you.
I'd like to point out that we listened to none of these songs on New Year's Eve. Thank god.
While we're being completely honest, Nick and I didn't host our own Pittsburgh get down either.

Whatever. I totally listened to 3 of those songs when I made the playlist, so there.
and another thing. #10 and #7 aside, you really can't knock the playlist. It is solid.
your playlist sort of reads like a "greatest hits of the 90s" except for Jay-Z, The Ting Tings, and Queen.

perhaps... i dug the 90s.
