i was definitely being sarcastic in the blog post because i'm of the opinion that you don't just get your named stamped on a book / comic release for being some jackass from down the street.

i, however, was not familiar with Frank Bellamy's work previous to this, so i appreciate the knowledge. thanks for the comment, Norman.

"Who is Frank Bellamy and why did he stamp his name on this Robin Hood GN?" Frank was a UK artist who died in 1976 and is still quoted by various comic artists as an influence on their work (Byrne, Williamson, Alan Davies - see http://www.alandavis-comicart.com/ADInspiration.html ) among many others. Why Robin Hood? His early comic work from the 1950s is so hard to collect (UK comics tend to be weekly) and this was in a younger id's comic - which didn't survive well - and this is Book Palace's way of bringing that to a wider audience. I really can't think who to compare him to in the USA but some of his later work is better known, but I believe this B&W work is well worth a look

Try the book and see what you think
